Shar-Pei
has existed for two thousand years. With the origin, it was employed in imperial
China for hunting for wild boar. Besides one finds it reproduced on bronze
statues going back to 206 front. J.C. This powerful and compact dog was used in
China in turn as gun dog, guard of herds and like guard of the
household. The pup was to show intelligence in the tasks assigned
under penalty of being cut down. Then, one
not very glorious period for the man will follow since it will use
it for combat of
dogs. In 1947, the race failed to disappear forever since at that
time China issued that the dogs were to be used as food..... It only
with is not impassioned that Shar-Pei owes its survival and in particular to a
young Chinese student who decided to make known this race in the United
States. At that time one hardly counts but one dozen subjects what
explains why when at the end of the Seventies, forty-five
Shar-Pei existing in the world are regarded as one of the races of dogs
rarest. With regard to its diffusion in France, Shar-Pei makes its
first entry with the Living room of Agriculture in Paris in 1983.
Its final affiliation by the SCC (Canine
Central Company) is dated from the 1er April
1988.
